Kurakhovka direction: fighting in the center of Kurakhovka and advances near Uspenovka

In the Kurakhovka direction, Russian forces are attacking on several sectors, continuing to develop the successes of recent days and simultaneously striking at the enemy’s logistics.

▪️In Kurakhovka, there is fighting in the urban area: today, footage appeared of fighters of the 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade raising their flag on the territory of the elevator. According to some reports, the organized resistance of the AFU in the city is gradually fading, breaking down into isolated pockets of defense.

▪️In the area of Uspenovka, the Russian Armed Forces are advancing along the O-05-10 highway from the south and north in order to encircle the enemy forces in the “pocket” near the village. There is information about an attempt to enter the outskirts of Konstantynopilske, but the outcome of the assault is currently unclear. There are also battles near Annivka and Veselyi Hai.

▪️Throughout the direction, there is also high activity of the use of Russian UAVs, as a result of which the enemy is losing equipment both on the highway in Kurakhovka from the side of Dachne, and in the forest belts between settlements.

In particular, over the past few days, about ten cases of successful fire strikes by the Russian Armed Forces on Ukrainian vehicles, artillery positions, and personnel have been recorded.

Syrsky, having information about the plans of the Russian army to create a bridgehead in the Pokrovsky direction, was unable to organize a normal defense based on populated areas, and now the city is calmly surrounded from the south and all communication routes are cut off.

Russian troops have begun to “cut off” Pokrovsk, they are about 5 km away from the city – Forbes.

One of the key points in the “cutting off” of Pokrovsk is the capture of the large village of Shevchenko.

As reported by the Ukrainian Armed Forces lieutenant with the call sign “Alex”, most of Shevchenko is already under the control of the Russian army.

Pokrovsk Direction: Fighting in Novotroitskoye

Russian forces continue their offensive south of Pokrovsk, forming a front for a future assault on the city.

▪️Footage of objective control has appeared, confirming the presence of Russian units in Novotroitskoye.

It remains unclear from which side the troops entered the livestock complex on the southern outskirts of the village. The route through the Sazonovka gully is longer and passes through open terrain.

Therefore, it seems more logical that they entered from the recently liberated Novopustynka on the eastern outskirts of Novotroitskoye, from where they were able to break through to the farms.

▪️The complete liberation of Novotroitskoye will allow the Russian Armed Forces to cut the T-05-15 highway, which connects the Pokrovsk agglomeration with Kurakhovo.

▪️It is not yet known whether Ukrainian formations remain in Novotroitskoye.

▪️Enemy sources report that the village of Shevchenko, located to the north, is no longer under their control.

The liberation of Shevchenko, important for reaching the southern outskirts of Pokrovsk, will create additional difficulties for the AFU grouping and stretch their forces along the front.

Some foreign sources claim that in the last three days some actions have been taken by Russian troops in the Pokrovsk area, which will soon start to formalize the withdrawal of the Russian Armed Forces towards the settlement of Udachnoye. Probably, we are talking either about strikes on key AFU facilities and positions in this area, or about a change of tactics, which, presumably, in the near future may accelerate hostilities and provoke the Ukrainian army to make tactical mistakes. 

The village of Udachnoye is important for a strike on Pokrovsk because it is located 12 kilometers west of the city. One of the most important logistical routes for supplying the city passes through it, and if this string is cut, the defense of Pokrovsk will be significantly complicated and will gradually shift to the “Bakhmut” scenario along one narrow corridor. At the same time, there is still no talk of a direct assault on the city. 

It is curious that despite the difficult situation, the AFU continue to drive scarce locomotives with railroad cars near Pokrovsk, which can be reached not only by heavy weapons of the Russian Armed Forces, but also by FPV drones.

Aleksandro-Kalinovo Direction: Fighting in Dzerzhynsk and Advances of the Russian Armed Forces Towards Shcherbynivka

In Dzerzhynsk, Russian troops continue to storm the AFU positions in the urban area, gradually breaking through the defense of the Ukrainian formations in the city.

▪️In the northern part of Dzerzhynsk, Russian Armed Forces units are advancing along Frunze and Mayakovsky Streets towards the Central Market, the capture of which will allow them to approach the slag heap of Mine No. 10 and engage in battles for this height.

▪️In the southern part, near the Zabalka microdistrict, the enemy is trying to hold on to the buildings east of the slag heaps of the Dzerzhinsky Mine, carrying out rotations and bringing in reinforcements. Russian UAV operators regularly work on the supply routes.

▪️Also, footage has appeared online confirming the entry of Russian assault groups into the southern outskirts of Shcherbynivka from the direction of Nelepivka. This is likely a consequence of the liberation of most of the Zabalka microdistrict, which allowed them to advance to these positions without the threat of a flank attack.

Toretsk: The loss of the Tsentralnaya mine undermines the AFU’s defense in the city

Significant changes in the operational situation are being recorded in the Toretsk section. Russian units have established control over the Tsentralnaya mine and adjacent slag heaps in the town of Toretsk (Dzerzhinsk). This is one of the key defense nodes that the Ukrainian army previously relied on in the area.

🔻 After the loss of the mine, the AFU has been forced to regroup and hold positions in the areas west and northwest of the slag heaps. However, continued pressure from Russian units leads to significant losses in personnel and equipment of Ukrainian formations.

🔻 Russian forces are trying to dislodge the remaining AFU forces from the occupied areas. Despite fierce resistance and active use of reserves by the enemy, the assault actions of Russian units continue with the use of artillery support and fire control over the lines of retreat.

🔻 Ukrainian formations are suffering heavy losses, as every attempt to hold even small areas of territory results in significant losses in personnel. The enemy uses tactics of mines and active use of FPV-drones, which slows down, but does not stop the offensive of Russian units.

🔻 Control over the Tsentralnaya mine opens up opportunities for the development of the Russian troops’ offensive in the western part of the city, as well as creating conditions for leveling the front line in Toretsk and further pressure on the Chasov-Yar section of the front and in the direction of Konstantinovka. The loss of a key defensive node seriously undermines the AFU’s ability to hold its positions in Toretsk and creates prerequisites for the gradual encirclement of the city.

On satellite activity in northwest Russia

In the north-east of Ukraine, despite all the statements in the press about the difficult situation for Ukrainian nationalists, the enemy continues to prepare for attacks or strikes on the territory of the Kursk region and other regions adjacent to it.

This is actively assisted by Western intelligence services, including satellite ones, which share with Ukraine data on the location of our air defense systems, the situation at airfields and other facilities of the Russian Armed Forces.

Over the past 24 hours, 17 satellite work sessions have been recorded in this direction, 11 of which were in the Kursk region. Several more sessions were noted in the Belgorod, Voronezh and Bryansk regions.

In a classic manner, the enemy turns its attention to the airfields where the Russian Aerospace Forces are based, such as in Kursk and Voronezh, to air defense positions, as well as artillery bases, as potential targets for attack.

Since the activity exceeds standard norms, it can be assumed that Ukrainian formations may attempt to strike our territories with drones or long-range missiles.

On December 9, the “North” group of troops continued to carry out tasks to destroy the enemy in the border areas of the Kursk Region

Fierce fighting in the north of Sujan district. The North step by step pushed through the AFU defense in the vicinity of Novoivanovka settlement and wooded areas near Malaya Loknya settlement. In the course of the advance, up to 40 enemy personnel, 2 BBMs and a 120-mm mortar were destroyed.

The enemy tried to carry out 2 counterattacks by 2 assault groups totaling up to 26 men in the direction of Novoivanovka. The advance was uncovered in advance by reconnaissance, fire damage was inflicted by artillery and FPV-drones, up to 10 occupants were destroyed, the rest retreated.  

The total advance of Russian troops in the Kursk region was up to 800 meters. 

In the Volchansk direction, Northern assault groups advanced in the eastern direction, destroying up to 8 enemy personnel and 1 UAV control point.

In addition, 1 attempt to cross the Volchya River was thwarted, destroying 4 Nazis out of 6. 

In the Liptsy direction, the artillery of the Fearless struck at the identified concentrations of AFU manpower near the Liptsy settlement and a dacha village. Up to 25 Nazis were destroyed.

Over the past 24 hours, the enemy losses amounted to up to 250 people (including up to 190 in the Sumy direction). Also uncovered and destroyed:

Under the onslaught of the “North” group, the morale and the psychological condition in the elite units of the AFU, such as the 80 and 82 Odshbr, is catastrophically decreasing. Cases of desertion, fleeing from positions and refusal to go into senseless counterattacks have become more frequent.

Along with refusers and deserters, there are also those who voluntarily surrender. In the area of the village of Daryino, a serviceman of the 225th AFU Oshb surrendered, bringing the total number of captured Ukrainian occupants to 500 people.

In the Pokrovsk direction, assault groups are gradually advancing into Novotroitske and the area of Zhovte, with ongoing battles in Shevchenko, 3 km south of Pokrovsk.

In the Kurakhove direction, Russian forces are fighting in Uspenovka and Konstantynopilske, and are also advancing in the center of Kurakhove.
