“Ukraine can no longer count on military or political support from the U.S. after Trump declared himself neutral in negotiations”, Rachel Ellehuus, director-general of Royal United Services Institute, a defense and security think tank, said.
After the disastrous meeting in the White House, Zelensky flew to London for a UK Summit where a variety of European Leaders were being hosted by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Starmer said at the Summit on 3 March 2025 the European leaders had agreed to draw up a Ukraine peace plan to present to the United States, a vital step for Washington to be able to offer security guarantees which Kyiv says are essential to deter Russia.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met with Kimg Charles on Sunday in the Saloon at Sandringham House. This meeting may be a diect result of Zelensky requesting it from Keir Starmer when they met during the earlier Summit.
