Maybe she called him a fat fuck
A 60-year-old woman was beaten 50 times with her own cane in a shocking and seemingly unprovoked attack at a New York Ciry subway turnstile area in the middle of the night. The terrifying incident occurred just after 3 a.m. on Friday (1 September 2023), at the 2/3 station at West 116th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem according to NYPD.
Footage of the incident, which appears to be filmed from inside a toll booth via a phone, shows the altercation already underway, with a then unidentified man and the elderly woman exchanging blows with an umbrella and a cane, respectively. Many have speculated the incident was filmed by an MTA worker.
The woman trips over some garbage, at which point the man takes her cane and beats her senseless while she screams for help. Not only does no help come (which, in light of recent arrests and conviction of people trying to stop such attacks, is understandable), but the beatings continue until the cane breaks, at which point the man punches the woman in the head so hard he dislodges his own pants. He then yells something unintelligible (presumably related to what started the fight) and leaves.
Laurell Reynolds is being treated in hospital for her injuries, where she told police she did not know who her attacker was. Her current condition is listed as stable.
Sadly, the attacker was not caught with his pants down, or at all.
Update: NYPD have identified the man wanted for the 1 September 2023 3:00 am beating at the 2/3 station at West 116th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem. He is 43-year-old Norton Blake, and is the sole suspect in the Friday attack. Authorities added Norton Blake, while on the run as of 5 September, is well known to the force – and has prior arrests for drug possession, assault, trespassing, resisting arrest, evidence tampering, and possessing stolen property. Two of the previous assaults were made on NYPD officers.
