“He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.” -Proverbs 18:17
When conducting high school assemblies across the country, our ministry team spent much of its time on the bus seeking out those who made a difference in the country we live in today.
We studied such people as Reformers Martin Luther, John Knox, William and Cathrine Booth, Charles Spurgeon, Jonathan Edwards, etc. We also looked at American Forefathers such as George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, along with abolitionists such as William Wilberforce, John Newton, Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglas, etc. Additionally, we also examined modern-day freedom fighters, including John F. Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King.

Now, we wanted to know what it was that made them so effective in the cause of liberty outside of the fact that they were constantly in the fight (1 Timothy 6:12). We also noticed that the powers that were tolerated by the masses were the ones that were demonizing and polarizing these men and women while the people who were following their ungodly narrative (Micah 6:16) were found scoffing and mocking (Jude 1:8).
In the case of Martin Luther King Jr., in particular, I wanted to know for myself if all the negative press that was said about him was true. If not, who was responsible for the constant attacks?
Furthermore, knowing that Martin Luther King. Jr. was also a Baptist preacher, I wanted to ask his best friend, Andrew Young, if Martin practiced what he preached.

Why do we worry about Negroes? They had their chance and some made and most did not because they are Negroes and they know that.
