SB2 TO REPEAL THE STATEWIDE FLUORIDATION PROGRAM; AND TO REMOVE THE MANDATE FOR WATER SYSTEMS TO MAINTAIN A FLUORIDE CONTENT.

It’s finally here, Arkansans!  This is the bill we have been crying out for all these many years!!!

Secure Arkansas gives an extra special shout out to these legislators for sponsoring this necessary bill and looking out for the safety of all Arkansans!

This special bill will repeal the toxic fluoride mandate that was done to our drinking water back in 2011. 

Water Systems: Rejoice! No more mandated fluoride to water systems!!

Arkansas Code § 20-7-136 will be repealed!… if and when
this bill passes.

Arkansas Code § 20-7-136 is (hopefully “was”) the state law that required the fluoridation of water systems in Arkansas. It also gave the Arkansas Department of Health the authority to set the limits for fluoride in water systems.

• Public invited! Please plan to come to the Capitol to support this desperately needed bill and/or testify on behalf of SB2 to help get it out of committee. Arrive early if you want to sign up and be on the agenda to speak.
   

• Email the Senate Committee members: Let them know you want them to support SB2 and to vote YES. You may email all of them at once by copying/pasting their email addresses into your email:

• Legislators, before you vote, we would like you to read this, please:  Are you aware that the US Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) prohibits adding fluoride to our tap water?

Standards: Section 1412(b)(11) (p. 15)

“No national primary drinking water regulation may require the addition of any substance for preventive health care purposes.”

…So, that would include adding fluoride to our tap water! We want potable, clean water.

It’s important to remember that fluoride is considered an environmental contaminant!

Shown below is a picture of the fluoride product. It’s from the phosphate fertilizer industry!

Once again, take note of the skull-and-crossbones and the red DANGER notice on the front. This is a WARNING that it’s a highly TOXIC chemical.

Were you aware that THIS is what’s added to the public drinking water supply?

This hazardous chemical that’s been added to our water supply is what we have been drinking, cooking, and bathing in… for years.

Adding fluoride to our community water supplies is too risky for human health!

Did you know that the EPA has been forced to admit that they don’t know the safety levels of fluoride in water and they can’t prove how much fluoride is safe to consume, either? This is unacceptable and appalling!

Thank goodness for the recent 2024 federal ruling.

Senior Judge Edward Chen wrote:

“The Court finds that fluoridation of water at 0.7 milligrams per liter (“mg/L”) – the level presently considered “optimal” in the United States – poses an unreasonable risk of reduced IQ in children…the Court finds there is an unreasonable risk of such injury, a risk sufficient to require the EPA to engage with a regulatory response.”

“In all, there is substantial and scientifically credible evidence establishing that fluoride poses a risk to human health; it is associated with a reduction in the IQ of children and is hazardous at dosages that are far too close to fluoride levels in the drinking water of the United States…Reduced IQ poses serious harm. Studies have linked IQ decrements of even one or two points to, e.g., reduced educational attainment, employment status, productivity, and earned wages.”

“One thing the EPA cannot do, however, in the face of this Court’s finding, is to ignore that risk.”

Shockingly, this toxic chemical goes beyond immediate toxicity and includes: neurotoxicity concerns, endocrine disruption, and increased risk of bone fracture, according to Kathleen Thiessen, Ph.D.

In closing, fluoride IS a neurotoxin linked to lower IQ, thyroid disorders, and bone cancer.
