SI Nabi Rasool Urges Motorists To Wear Helmets For Safety
Bommanahal – Andhra Pradesh (Before It’s News – IC): Bommanhal police, led by SI Nabi Rasool, intensify efforts to enforce helmet compliance and curb traffic violations through awareness drives, penalties, and counseling to ensure road safety.
Helmets save lives: A clear message from Bommanhal Police
Bommanhal Sub-Inspector (SI) Nabi Rasool has issued a strong appeal to motorists to prioritize their safety by wearing helmets while driving two-wheelers. “Most fatalities in road accidents occur due to head injuries. Wearing a helmet can save lives,” he emphasized during a special awareness drive conducted on Sunday.
SI Nabi Rasool explained that police are actively conducting awareness programs and imposing penalties to encourage helmet use. He stressed that compliance with safety rules is essential to reduce the alarming number of deaths caused by road accidents.

Strict enforcement against traffic violations
To reinforce road safety, Bommanhal police have intensified their special drive against traffic violations, including:
- Driving without helmets: Motorists caught without helmets are fined and counseled. Repeat offenders face escalating consequences, including driving license cancellation upon the third violation.
- Triple riding and overspeeding: Motorists engaging in triple riding or speeding are being penalized and counseled on the dangers of reckless driving.
- Mobile phone use while driving: Motorists caught using mobile phones while driving are being educated about the risks and fined accordingly.

Counseling for youth and minors
SI Nabi Rasool expressed concern over the attitude of youth who prioritize speed over safety. “The value that youth give to speed is not given to life or wearing a helmet,” he remarked.
For minors caught driving, the police are calling their parents to the station for counseling sessions, aiming to instill a sense of responsibility among families.

The ongoing special drive has been conducted daily for the past ten days, following orders from higher authorities. The police team is engaging with motorists on the roads and educating them about the dangers of overspeeding, triple riding, and driving without helmets.
As part of Sunday’s special drive, head constables V Narendra, S Kamal Basha, Constables S Ravi Kumar, and Raj Kumar actively educated motorists about helmet usage and traffic regulations, reinforcing the collective commitment to road safety and issuing challans to rule violators.
