Andhra Lawyers Association Demands Security For Lawyers, Condemns Misuse Of Power
Vijayawada – Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Lawyers Association (ALA) General Secretary Meda Srinivas criticized the government for failing to ensure the safety of legal professionals. Addressing a press conference at the Vijayawada Press Club on Tuesday, he emphasized the urgent need for security measures to protect lawyers from undue harassment and misuse of power.

Security concerns for legal professionals
ALA President MV Rajaram and Secretary Avadhanula Hari assured that the association would remain steadfast in supporting lawyers facing threats or legal harassment. They reaffirmed their commitment to advocating for the safety of legal professionals across the state.

Condemnation of illegal cases against kurnool lawyer
The ALA leaders strongly condemned the alleged misuse of power by Inspector Imtiaz, who they claim filed illegal cases against Kurnool-based lawyer L Krishna Prasad. Calling it a grave injustice, they vowed to take legal action against the police official. A written request has already been submitted to withdraw the cases against Krishna Prasad.

Call for implementation of special security act
Expressing frustration over government inaction, the ALA leaders reiterated the need for the Central and State Governments to implement the Special Security Act for Advocates. They warned that society’s safety depends on cooperation between lawyers and law enforcement, cautioning that courts would not remain passive if authorities act in self-interest.
The press conference was attended by senior advocates Nageshwar Rao and Satish Babu, along with victim advocate L Krishna Prasad and other members of the legal fraternity.
