ISIS Attack on Tehran Benefits the Mullahs’ Regime
In light of the U.S. efforts to unite the Arab and Muslim nations against Iran and its support of terrorist activities throughout the region and globally, the recent attacks by ISIS in Tehran seem to be a godsend to the Iranian regime. It is noteworthy that until this attack, ISIS had never been active in Iran at all.
According to the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), this attack by ISIS is against its own godfather’s tomb and his Parliament.
However, the attack didn’t surprise Iranian President Rouhani, who claimed that “the incident was not unexpected” and Khamenei downplayed “these firework displays” as insignificant and ineffective. The terrorist rivalry between the claimants of a Sunni Caliphate and the so-called Shi’ite Caliphate dubbed the velayat-e faqih in Iran, even if not tailor-made or staged, is the source of jubilation and elation for the mullahs’ Caliph Khamenei.
“ISIS’s conduct clearly benefits the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Khamenei, who wholeheartedly welcomes it as an opportunity to overcome his regime’s regional and international impasse and isolation. The founder and the number one state sponsor of terror is thus trying the switch the place of murder and the victim and portray the central banker of terrorism as a victim,” said NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi.
The International community needs to be aware that Iran twists circumstances to make themselves look better and shouldn’t fall for that trick this type, and should not allow Tehran to exploit the latest incident by ISIS in Iran.
As part of the gathering to be held in Paris on July 1, 2017, the Iranian resistance will be outlining a plan to deal with the mullahs’ regime and build a future for the Iranian people that addresses the human rights violations and the lack of democracy within the country.
Part of the NCRI plan includes a plan to uproot terrorism, including:
- The IRGC must be designated as a terrorist entity.
- The IRGC and paramilitary proxies of the Khamenei caliphate must be removed from Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation must expel the mullahs’ regime and recognize the Iranian Resistance for ending religious fascism.
For those in the international community looking for a solution to the larger issue of curbing Iran’s influence, as well as limiting the effects of its support of terrorism throughout the region and globally, then it is critical to take advantage of the perspective of this group of Iranians and their international supporters to address the issues surrounding Iran. The western capitals will be well advised to pay attention to the message from Paris this July.
