Trump ordering review of all federal NGO funding

President Donald Trump is issuing a memorandum directing his Cabinet and other agency heads to review all federal funding provided to nongovernmental organizations.
The president is expected to unveil the directive during an Oval Office ceremony Friday afternoon. White House officials say the president ordered the freeze Thursday night.
White House officials did not answer questions about any sort of timeline for the funding review or how it specifically differs from the pause and review Trump ordered on all federal grants.
“The United States Government has provided significant taxpayer dollars to Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs), many of which are engaged in actions that actively undermine the security, prosperity, and safety of the American people,” Trump’s memo reads. “It is the policy of my Administration to stop funding NGOs that undermine the national interest.”
