President Donald Trump announces Milbank will provide at least $100M worth of legal services to the Trump administration to battle activist judges go.
Milbank struck the deal with President Donald Trump to avoid an executive order as the law firm agreed to spend $100 million in pro bono services.
Trump announced on Wednesday on Truth Social that his administration and the Manhattan-founded law firm reached an agreement. Milbank has also pledged to not engage in any “illegal DEI discrimination” as part of the deal, Trump said.
The announcement comes less than 24 hours after Trump announced a similar deal with Willkie Farr & Gallagher.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had reached an agreement with Milbank law firm that would require it to perform a total of at least $100 million in pro bono legal services during his second administration.
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission annnounceD two weeks ago that they were investigating Milbank, Kirkland & Ellis, Ropes & Gray, and Simpson Thacher, among other top law firms, for discrimination in their diversity programs.
“The EEOC is prepared to root out discrimination anywhere it may rear its head, including in our nation’s elite law firms,” Acting Chair Andrea Lucas said Monday. “No one is above the law—and certainly not the private bar.” (more here)
