Managing Time and Lifespan Will Not Happen in Front of the TV Eating Junk Food (Reject the Culture Christian)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

It seems to me that Christians in America are a product of our culture and we don’t even know it.  Want stands between us and doing the good works we were created to do is ourselves. The parts of the culture that keep us distracted and pursuing pleasure, entertainment, and relaxation are also taking years off our lives.  In an effort to communicate our Cretan like demise, I have been sending out the email below to pastors all over the country.  The hope is that their eyes will be opened to the cultural blind spots and also I would hope that the small amount of information below would add a few years to their life as well as reclaim some wasted time:

Managing Time and Lifespan Will Not Happen in Front of the TV Eating Junk Food (Reject the Culture Christian)

Galatians 6:10  So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Just taking the “opportunity” to help with time and lifespan.

  1. Nothing Boring About Boron

Pubmed/National Library of Medicine

From the article:

Regulation of Hormones: After only 1 week of boron supplementation of 6 mg/d, a further study by Naghii et al20 of healthy males (n = 8) found (1) a significant increase in free testosterone, which rose from an average of 11.83 pg/mL to 15.18 pg/mL; and (2) significant decreases in E2, which dropped from 42.33 pg/mL to 25.81 pg/ml. (Note 28% increase in testosterone in a week)

Anti-inflammatory Effects in Osteoarthritis: Epidemiological evidence, case reports, and controlled animal and human studies have provided evidence for the use of boron as a safe and effective treatment for osteoarthritis (OA).52-54 Examining the relationship between boron administration and OA prevalence around the world, researchers discovered that in areas where boron intake is greater than or equal to 1 mg/d, the estimated incidence of arthritis ranges from 20% to 70%. In contrast, in areas where boron intake is usually 3 to 10 mg/d, estimated incidence of arthritis ranges from 0% to 10%

Note: 100 milligrams of boron citrate = 5 milligrams of elemental boron.

“Good” parenting as is done in our culture is in opposition to good health and good time management. It rewards good behavior with bad things. These habits are carried into adulthood and then passed on to future generations. Perhaps rebelling against our culture

OLW7U0G7J.pdfwould be a good thing.  Our culture encourages us to squander the two most important assets. (PDF includes sermon notes).

  1. Magnesium Reduces Heart Attacks and Deaths.

Long-term follow-up after acute myocardial infarction in patients randomized to treatment with intravenous magnesium or intravenous propranolol in the acute phase

PMID: 7786690

Abstract:

Ninety-five patients with acute myocardial infarction were followed up for 6 months to 3 years (mean 25.4 months) in a preliminary study to compare the effects of intravenous magnesium (49 patients) with that of intravenous propranolol (44 patients) given immediately after admission to the intensive care unit. There were four cardiac deaths in the propranolol group and no deaths in the magnesium group (P < 0.046) and 27 per cent of patients who received propranolol subsequently developed cardiac failure as opposed to 12 per cent (less than half) of those who had received magnesium (P < 0.04). Intravenous magnesium given in the early stages of myocardial infarction reduces the subsequent cardiac death rate possibly by reducing infarct size.

  1. Vitamin C Reduces Human Mortality

Link:  https://www.lifeextension.com/magazine/2019/3/vitamin-c-reduces-human-mortality

“Vitamin C has been found to cut the risk of premature death from cancer, cardiovascular disease, and weakened immune function. In a recent study, people with the highest blood levels of vitamin C demonstrated a 25% lower risk of dying from any cause.”

Note: The vast majority of mammals, fish, birds, and reptiles produce their own vitamin C internally in large quantities. Humans can only get vitamin C from what they eat. Vitamin C is found in plants in relatively small amounts. Dr. Linus Pauling (two time Nobel prize winner) suggested that people need 4– 6 grams of vitamin C a day (in divided doses). He started mega-dosing in his 60s. Poor guy only lived to be 93 and only beat the national average for male life expectancy by only 2 decades.
