OTL: 2025 NFL Combine Recap for Ravens Fans

The football nerd in me loves Combine Week, and as sorry as I am to see it go, it was a lot of fun while it lasted. Maybe this is recency bias, but this was one of the more eventful Combines I can remember, with a lot of intriguing storylines.

If you didn’t tune in, I’ll give you the best brief rundown that I can, and I’ll do my best to pare it down to what you need to know as it pertains to the Ravens.
One of the biggest highlights of the weekend was a pair of prospects testing historically well, both of whom could be in consideration for Baltimore.
Shemar Stewart is a DE prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.99 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 3 out of 1802 DE from 1987 to 2025.

Nick Emmanwori is a SS prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored an unofficial 10.00 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1 out of 1079 SS from 1987 to 2025.
Splits projected, times unofficial. Pending agis and bench, could be a new top guy!https://t.co/WDmbwaGk56 pic.twitter.com/53Vx9vR7dx

Our guy Chris talked about him in yesterday’s piece, but Texas A&M EDGE Shemar Stewart has been routinely mocked to the Ravens as their first-round selection. Projections for Stewart were all over the place as evaluators tried to reconcile what film showed with how athletic his testing profile is. Stewart was limited to just 4.5 sacks across his college career, but this did free up opportunities for his running mate and fellow prospect Nic Scourton. If I’m in the hot seat making the selection, I’d ideally pursue someone more polished, but if the Ravens feel Chuck Smith can get the best out of Stewart, I don’t hate the idea of another athletic freak on the team. I just don’t know if I’m spending #27 on him if there are some other options available.
Meanwhile, South Carolina Safety Nick Emmanwori tested with the best Raw Athletic Score (RAS) ever for a Safety in the modern Combine era. A 4.4 40-yard dash, combined with great splits during the drill and obvious explosiveness in the rest of his testing, may very well have punched him a ticket to a first-round selection. When I broke down Emmanwori’s film, the explosiveness and closing speed are certainly there, and he pairs it with good physicality at the point of contact. Given that he was recruited as a linebacker before switching to safety, that doesn’t surprise me, but his instincts in coverage sometimes left a bit to be desired, and he got a little handsy in downfield situations, which worries me in terms of drawing flags. If the Ravens feel he’s the final missing piece in the secondary, I get the selection, but even a lockdown secondary could struggle if they don’t prop us the pass rush first.
One final point of order on this: athleticism that raises your stock at the Combine doesn’t always translate to execution at the next level. In fact, it often disappoints.

Elsewhere, probably one of the biggest position groups that impressed was the running back group…
Noteworthy RB RAS:
Omarion Hampton 9.93
Quinshon Judkins: 9.88
DJ Giddens 9.89
Raheim Sanders 9.82 pic.twitter.com/wnRiTMufYY

…and while that has little bearing on what Baltimore wants to do as they move forward, it could still be very good news for the Ravens. Running backs like Omarion Hampton and Kaleb Johnson have continued to impress, and with Ashton Jeanty an odds-on lock to be drafted in the first round, there’s the possibility that other RB-needy teams could grab one of these other rising prospects early, pushing premier prospects at other positions down the board into Baltimore’s grasp.
That works out well, especially given what the Ravens need along the O-line, and boy, did the O-linemen show out this week.

Aireontae Ersery is a OT prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.32 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 96 out of 1395 OT from 1987 to 2025.

The former Bison just posted the 3rd highest vertical jump for an offensive line since 2003, tying Tampa Bay offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs https://t.co/bv3ZMIxfPn

All three of those names are ones that I wouldn’t mind the Ravens being able to snag during the Draft, and their performances backed up the already-high expectations of them. There’s value later in this class as well; Iowa Guard Connor Colby was a guy I’d had my eye on for a while as a late snag, and his Combine performance certainly gives teams confidence in his next-level upside. Hopefully not so much that they snag him before Baltimore does.
Connor Colby is a OG prospect in the 2025 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.66 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 55 out of 1583 OG from 1987 to 2025.

The trenches are going to be a main point of emphasis for Baltimore as we close in on April, even if the front office is able to get a deal done with Ronnie Stanley ahead of the Draft. Maybe OT doesn’t remain as much of a priority if they can lock him down, and as Cole points out, you’ve got room to get younger for cheaper at multiple spots along the line without having to go fishing in free agency.
I agree here from the #Ravens perspective
Not overly interested in investing there.
2 draft picks at guard imo (1 of whom has OT ability) and 1 draft pick at a true OT https://t.co/kktbBjtamw

The next major landmarks will likely be some free agent offerings and Pro Days. We’ll give you what we gather from those as the offseason advances.
