Ukraine strikes market in Russian town with HIMARS
BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | March 9, 2025: On March 6 President Donald Trump made a decision to stop sharing intelligence with Ukraine which include helping their military to direct the High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems, commonly known as HIMARS, and the Army Tactical Missile System, called ATACMS to hit targets inside Russian territories.
However, on March 9 the Ukrainian military managed to launched two HIMARS rockets directly at market stalls in the town of Veliky Kopani in Russia’s Kherson Region on Sunday, the regional governor Vladimir Saldo said. The attack by the HIMARS rockets left several civilians dead and “a lot” wounded, citing preliminary data being reported.
How the Ukrainian military was able to launch these weapons to their target is unknow, and shows that it does not need satellite targeting help from the United States. Is someone else providing Ukraine with targeting data?
The Kiev regime since mid-2022 has been receiving M142 HIMARS and its heavier tracked cousin, the M270 MLRS, from the US and other Western backers. These systems are touted as a key tool for striking high-value Russian assets – on civilian targets deep beyond the frontline.
