Tesla CEO Elon Musk has “hugged it out” with JP Morgan CEO
During an interview with CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon confirmed that he and Elon Musk have settled their differences.
The CEO also expressed his support for Musk’s DOGE initiative, which is expected to make the U.S. federal government more efficient.
Elon Musk vs. JPMorgan:
- Elon Musk and JPMorgan have butted heads in the past, with both parties filing lawsuits against each other.
- While testifying in Delaware court in 2023, Musk stated that “Tesla has a very negative relationship with JPMorgan.”
- Musk also noted that “JPMorgan hates Tesla and me very much,” as noted in a Forbes report.
- In November, however, JPMorgan dropped its lawsuit against the electric vehicle maker.
- Tesla also dropped its countersuit against the bank last year.

Dimon’s comments:
- During an interview with CNBC, Dimon was asked about his turbulent history with the Tesla CEO.
- Dimon confirmed that he and Elon Musk had already settled their differences and that they had “hugged it out.”
- The JPMorgan CEO also praised Musk for his ambitious projects, stating that the CEO is today’s Einstein.
- “Elon and I have hugged it out. He came to one of our conferences. We had a nice long chat. We settled some of our differences, and the guy, you gotta look at Elon. I mean, SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink. I mean, the guy is our Einstein, and so on. I’d like to be helpful to him and his companies as much as we can,” Dimon stated.

- Dimon was also supportive of Elon Musk’s DOGE, which was formally established yesterday through an executive order from U.S. President Donald Trump.
- As per the JPMorgan CEO, there is no doubt that the government needs to be more efficient, so he wishes DOGE the best.
- “I think it is completely rational for somebody to look at our government and say it’s been ineffective. We deserve good government, and I don’t think anyone thinks sending another trillion dollars to Washington, D.C. will lead to good government. The government needs to be more accountable. It needs to be more efficient. It should be outcomes-based. I’d say go department by department, so I wish them (DOGE) the best,” he noted.
