There are two to put up: one from Jesus and this one from Gene who does the monthly north magnetic pole positions of the Maverick Star Observatory in the U.K. Like Dr Sam, Gene is widely read and knowledgable – a man of science and logical reasoning. Here is his logical reasoning on full display, and I would suggest that you read it thoroughly. China is not what we think, even though they put on a ‘saving face’, and in the second place he follows ‘the Baltic Dry Index’, also a U.K. publication, of shipping, and describes how it has fallen off in the last year or two, with low trade and low transfer of goods between countries. Which should lead us into the obvious: a lack of foreign imports, including from China. The ‘Pit’ is there, but when we will see it, is anybody’s guess.

Hi, very good morning. Um, I wanted to talk about um artificial intelligence just briefly, because what happened in the last week when uh ‘DeepSeek’, well not in the last week, in the last few months, ‘DeepSeek’ announced their artificial intelligence platform. Um, what I found, um and I don’t usually recommend any channels uh, to watch on YouTube, but I will on this matter uh because if you want to know what’s going on on the ground in China ‘the China Observer’ on YouTube is well worth a subscribe. Because I- I listen to a video or two every day coming from this uh platform, uh because it’s telling the truth about what is actually going on in China.

So getting back to um DeepSeek, um you know it’s it’s a scam and if you just wait a couple of months you’re going to find out that what I’ve just said is actually true, and it’s not um it’s it’s not me that just announces that DeepSeek is a scam, a lot of people know it. But the majority of people that are spreading that DeepSeek is a real challenger for ChatGPT [generative pre-trained transformer, from IBM], you know. You’re going to find it’s not true. Um just for instance, uh you know when you look at actual uh processing power of uh ‘DeepSeek’ compared to that of ChatGPT, uh you’ll you’ll see very quickly why what they are saying cannot possibly be true, uh because they just simply don’t have the processing power to do that.

And just to give you, for instance, um- let’s just talk about what is the heart of um artificial intelligence. It’s the GPU’s, and that stands for, uh, you know uh, ‘graphic processing units’ that are in the system. Now, uh DeepSeek has 2,000 and 48 uh graphic processing units um, that you know, make up its artificial intelligence platform; and chap- ChatGTP uses 25,000 GPU’s. And that’s a hell of a lot more computing power than what uh DeepSeek has, and that is why you know they claim that they only spent just over- or just under £6 million for their platform; whereas ChatGPT obviously outlaid a lot more on their 25,000 GPU’s compared to DeepSeek’s only 2,048 GPU’s.

Um you would quickly realize that uh ChatGTP is obviously way more, and far more powerful, and of course there are other things um you know uh related to this. But basically, uh DeepSeek was very well marketed, and something that spread very rapidly around the world. And now everyone’s talking about it. But you know uh if you use uh DeepSeek, you’re going to find very quickly that it’s a lot- very well oriented around the Chinese Communist party. Like for instance um watching this video, someone asked it a question, “How is, how can we immigrate to uh Taiwan?” And DeepSeek said, you know, it then gives the, you know, the propaganda answer to that, um you know saying that you should look into the history of the great Chinese uh uh leaders that have changed- and you know created such a beautiful country for us.

But you know like I say uh, what it managed to do in real terms, uh DeepSeek by its marketing and fooling everybody, was literally wipe off 1 trillion pounds within a few weeks off the stock market, um and big companies that are into um, uh you know, artificial intelligence- And just to give you, for an instance of one of those companies, ‘Nvidia’ lost 500 billion off its stock market price, you know the very same amount that um you know Donald Trump has announced is going to invest into um you know um, America’s artificial intelligence industry. So that’s the truth of the matter. You can’t compete uh with just 2,000 or a little over 2,000 GPU’s in comparison to 25,000 GPU’s and claim that your uh system is more uh powerful than somebody else’s, when clearly it’s not.

And if you look in the history as well of uh, Chinese uh propaganda, you know whenever they launch something they always say it’s better than somebody else’s, you know like for instance Huawei’s um mobile phone. When it came out they said that this is far better than the Apple phone when you know it was later revealed that it was far worser. So you know you- what you find is a pattern. Whenever Chinese launch something they Market it very well, but they’re just marketing a worse model that they- that you know that their competitors have. So you know- but if you go to this channel you’ll see a lot more truths about what’s going on in China, and you’ll understand that people are investing their money in the banks, and they’re, you know they’re being ‘sold’ like uh you know a rigid platform, that if ever they want to draw that money back out they can.. Only to find out that the staff in the bank actually invested it into businesses in China and those businesses didn’t do too well, and therefore they lost the money when they never even signed up for that sort of investment packaging. You know they just wanted a flat you know bank account to store the money in that they could withdraw at a later date.

People in America have lost millions of Yuan through this, and those banks have said you know, “It wasn’t uh you know, just on legal terms”, you know. There’s nothing you can do basically and you know it’s just: It the- the country is just crumbling at the moment, worse than any other country in my view from what I’ve seen off this channel. Um but I will say this, you know this is coming from someone that’s obviously using a VPN [virtual private network] from China and they’re very well educated on what’s going on in that country, and they’re you know they’re a good blogger and you know I would well recommend you know, um subscribe on this channel if you want to know what’s going on in China, if you want the truth what’s going on in China. But you know that’s it in a nutshell.

What you got to remember is that Chinese Communist Party own a lot of the companies, the big- especially the big companies, and obviously they must have got behind um ‘DeepSeek’ on this, to Market it in a very good way that they did. You know that it spread all around the world, think- everyone thinking DeepSeek is much more powerful, you know just um um reproducing the statements that were made by DeepSeek. Well, obviously DeepSeek have made financial gains from that marketing, uh with people believing exactly what they say, but a lot of the people now in China are becoming well aware of this strategy. Uh, only thing is we in the West haven’t caught up to it. So that is all I’m going to say on this, uh you know- you know competitiveness with DeepSeek and companies like ChatGPT.

Uh so just remember, uh you know, you’ve got two cars you know you’ve got a one liter engine comp- competing with you know uh a flat V6 or something like that, a V12, or a Ferrari. You know you’ve got a Mini competing with a Ferrari, that’s the simplest analogy I can give. You know you can’t have 2,000 GPU’s do better than 25,000 GPU’s, and you know this is the problem: people don’t know what is at the heart of these technologies and they take it at face value. A lot of people do this and then make investment mistakes because of that. So you know you’ve really got to look underneath what is going on to find out the truth about it. But you know just give it a bit of time when the truth comes out about um DeepSeek over the next coming few months you’ll see that it was just hot air.

 

Here’s what I wanted to show you, uh we’re looking at the ‘Baltic Dry Index’ again. And I just wanted to point out something to you, uh because if you look down here- I’m going to draw the line at where we are right now. We’re at 715 points. Uh, for those that don’t know what the ‘Dry Baltic Index’ is, it’s the shipping – the transfer of goods, foods, commodities- everything like that. Now, if there’s not a lot of stuff moving around the world then there’s not a lot of trade going on, and there certainly isn’t a lot of trade going on right now. And this starts- this chart at 1969 and comes up to the present day, and you know at the worst if we look, you know the lowest we got to was around uh 305 points. That’s the worst in the entire history and that happened uh around 2016, and if we go back to uh around I don’t know, 1970s 1980s, we can see that we are almost at current levels, at around 582 points. And that’s going back to 196- uh 1970. So you know, where we are right now is at the worst point I would say other than what happened around uh you know 2016.

So let’s say okay for ar- argument’s sake we’re at the second worst point in our- in the entire history almost of shipping. But the thing is today compared to 1969 is we have a far greater amount of ships, and this is a prediction you know. We have- we’ve got more tankers now, more uh fright carriers now than we ever have done, but most of them are parked up. So what I predict is that the shipping industry, if this doesn’t improve, and I don’t see any reason why it should do, but if the shipping industries don’t improve, you know uh bulk freight carriers are going to start going out of business. Because what’s going to happen is a lot of these ships are going to be parked- anchored up somewhere around the world doing nothing, because they obviously aren’t moving Freight anywhere. And that tells you, you know, how to compare- How do you compare this then with the global economy? Well it’s very simple you know, if nothing is moving then the economy is flatlining.

And I think you know that. Any- if you’re in the west or in Europe you know that. You know if you look at Mercedes: 20% loss on sales this year; same with Volkswagen; same with Audi you know, same with a lot of car manufacturers, even Tesla and other hybrid uh Chinese um vehicle competitors in that motor industry. But just something to watch, you know, I’ve been watching this every day and we are obviously on a down run uh on the shipping. There is less and less happening, and I think that this is the best indicator for the global economy if you want to know and keep an eye out on what’s going on. And basically all you have to do to have a look at this, is type in your computer uh ‘Dry Baltic’- sorry dry um ‘Dry Baltic Index’, and you’ll get the um, the platform that I’m looking at and you can see uh on the right hand side I haven’t expanded the uh- you know the frame, so that you can see, but you can look at Copper, Gold um, Lumber, uh steel, uh iron, or all sorts of stuff, and it will show you the current trading Market uh prices for that and how it’s doing, whether it’s going down or going up.

So you know a couple of good um things there for you to keep out a good eye on. Uh tomorrow we’re going to be doing our earth again, cuz we haven’t done one for over a month now, and that will give you an idea of how much uh CO2 is in our atmosphere, oxygen in our atmosphere, as well as a lot of other things. And the recording of last month’s uh magnetic pole positioning with regards to longitude and latitude. And of course um on the on the second we’ll be doing an earth update- sorry not an earth.. we’ll be doing a uh positioning of this month’s, sorry February’s, um geomagnetic North Pole position for you.
